Narayanan Srinivasan (Professor)

Security and risk specialist with over two decades of experience in aviation, maritime, and critical infrastructure protection. Professor Srinivasan serves as Professor of Security and Risk at Edith Cowan University (ECU) in Perth, Western Australia, and is Director of the Emirates-ECU Centre in Dubai. His academic background includes studies in criminology and public administration at the University of Malaya and Cambridge University, complemented by executive programs at Cornell and Harvard in security management and international security.


He has led research and advisory projects across Australia, the UK, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East, focusing on aviation and maritime security. As a consultant to airlines and governments, he has contributed to enhancing security protocols and professionalising the security industry through education programs globally. His work includes co-authoring the book chapter "Current Issues in Aviation Security," addressing the complexities of airline security in the post-9/11 era.


Professor Srinivasan is also a member of the UN expert group on Civilian Private Security and participates in several professional groups dedicated to the advancement of security practices. He has been recognized for his contributions to the field, including serving as a keynote speaker at the ASIS Asia-Pacific Security Forum, where he discussed the professionalisation of the security industry.
